Usually not the same estimate. Restoration prices drying the structure and replacing ruined finishes; a heating plant that sat in water is assessed by a mechanical contractor and replaced or cleared separately. Expect two documents, and expect a policy to consider them as two items rather than one.
The ductwork runs under the floor. Does that add to the job?
It can add a good deal. Water entering under-floor ducting is not reached by the equipment drying the room above it, and cleaning or replacing that run is specialist work on its own line. Ask whether the estimate includes the duct system or explicitly excludes it, because both are common.
What should be asked before signing a lower-level estimate here?
Which items are scheduled for removal and on what reading; how many air movers and dehumidifiers for how many days; whether the mechanical equipment is inside the figure or outside it; and what the rebuild line covers. Those four answers make two contractors' numbers comparable rather than merely different.
