The floor has gone soft. Can it be dried?
If it is particleboard decking, no. That material swells when it saturates and does not return to dimension, so drying it produces a floor that is dry and still ruined. It is removed and replaced as a matter of course, which makes the floor a structural repair rather than a covering one.
Why is the insulation under the home part of the job?
Because it holds water against the deck from below. Underfloor wrap traps what came down through the floor and keeps feeding it back, and equipment set in the room above never reaches it. It is opened, the wet insulation is removed, and the deck is read from underneath as well as above.
Does factory-built housing change the coverage question?
